Dignity

Forget about political correctness.

Focus on respecting the other’s right to dignity, whether present or not.

That includes your enemy.

Never backstab and never fear speaking up for the defenseless, the absent or yourself.

See yourself in the struggles of the other and extend your hand when it is needed.

Be of service.

Separate what you want from what you need.

Respect your dignity.

Focus on these things and you will see the emptiness and ugliness in Donald Trump.

Character matters.

Unfortunately, he is lost in his money. As the teacher said long ago,

Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.

Matthew 19:24 [New International Version (NIV)]

Since we have free will, which includes the right to choose unwisely, entering the kingdom of God isn’t a relevant consideration.

Dignified behavior matters for its own sake.

Polonius:
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Farewell, my blessing season this in thee!

Laertes:
Most humbly do I take my leave, my lord.

Hamlet Act 1, scene 3, 78–82

  1. Much love, says:

Thank you and very nice…..Happy Holidays to you folks….Rev

I’ve read where his real worth is not even 1 billion, even with all the money he conned the banks out of and did not pay back. I’ve read the real number should be around 200 to 250 million. He should be in prison but with NY making accommodations and covering up for him I doubt he will ever go to prison at least not in this country. Not to mention his personal life, no politician could have his personal life and behavior overlooked only “The Donald”. I’m all for dumping Trump if he does win I’m hoping he will be impeached before his first year in office, actually he’ll probably resign when he finds out he can’t put his name up in lights over the White House.

Problem is, he probably CAN (and if he gets into office, likely WILL) put his name up in lights over the White House. And then revoke that little part in the Constitution that says a president can only serve two terms, and declare himself permanent lifetime king (and queen) of the USA.

None of our Republican candidates is dignified. Not one of them is dignified. The least visibly undignified seems to be (possibly) Jeb! but his conduct at the time his brother was appointed President was undignified in the extreme so I think that bars him from even taking THAT prize from the crowd he stands (rightfully) among now.

I got a Christmas card from someone in prison in Florida; he thanked me for some favors and he blessed me way way too extremely and I realized that most of the people we have in our prisons are way more dignified than a good portion of the people we have in our state legislatures. OMG. OMG. We are in big big big trouble.

On the other hand, I have compiled (so we can lighten up) a list of the “TOP TEN REASONS I DO NOT LIKE CHRISTMAS.” I send this out as a printed message inside a red Christmas card that says on it, simply, “HO HO HO HO HO HO” all across the front in white letters.

    My top ten list:

I can’t stand it when visions of sugarplums dance in my head

    I can’t stand Christmas Music
Businesses I never heard of send me cards wishing me peace and joy
    Traffic
TV programs get even worse (no, really, they DO!)
Stores keep telling me I can save money by giving it to them
There are things called “shopping days” left before it
Lines at the post office are even longer and even slower and the employees look like they’re about to go postal
Pan-handlers look more miserable and colder, and if you give them something they bless you even more urgently…

and………………..the number one reason I do not like Christmas:

This weird, FAT, OLD white guy shows up calling me a HO!

    😆
