Ben Carson is unfit to be President

Ben Carson is unfit to be President because

(1) he does not believe in evolution;

(2) he does not believe in  human caused climate change; and

(3) he believes Joseph of Biblical fame built the pyramids in Egypt to store grain.

Evolution has been scientifically proven by DNA studies. No credible climate scientist denies that humans are causing climate change. Last but not least, no credible Egyptologist denies that the pyramids at Giza were built during the Old Kingdom around 2,500 BC as monuments and tombs for pharaohs Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure long before the Biblical Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt.

Carson’s religion-based beliefs are ludicrous and they demonstrate a man who’s mind is closed to evidence-based thinking. We cannot afford to elect such a man to the highest office in the land. The results will be catastrophic.

One that you didn’t mention: when asked about his lack of legislative experience. he said that none of the founding fathers had legislative experience. In fact, MOST of the founding fathers had been in their colonial legislatures prior to serving in the Continental Congress. The colonial legislatures selected delegates to the Continental Congress, and they mostly (though not exclusively) selected their own people.

China air pollution far worse than thought: Study

    http://www.surgenetwork.org/the-effects-of-over-logging-on-the-environment/
Over-logging has caused a serious decrease in the amount of forest we have across the globe. There are many effects of over logging and deforestation including loss of ecosystems, endangering species, polluting the land and climate change. However, the personal use of a chainsaw has little to no effect on the environment on a grand scale and is still a safe and handy tool to use on your personal property, or wherever it is legal to cut.

    http://www.marketplace.org/topics/sustainability/we-used-be-china/la-smog-battle-against-air-pollution
When we see photos of Beijing shrouded in a veil of thick smog, we’re horrified. How can the Chinese live with such terrible air pollution? One answer is: Americans did. Back in the 1950s and ’60s, people in Los Angeles breathed some of the dirtiest air in the world. Los Angeles still has smog, of course, but it’s not nearly as bad as it used to be. How did the city get its act together?

    http://www.newsweek.com/there-are-270000-tons-plastic-garbage-floating-atop-worlds-oceans-290886
These tiny pieces of plastic present more of a problem, in some ways, than larger pieces, Eriksen says. For one, they are easier to ingest. But they are also harder to clean up. It would be impossible to retrieve a significant portion of the garbage now found in the ocean, he says. The study only estimated the amount of plastic floating on the surface of the oceans. Much more is likely on the ocean bottom, but nobody knows exactly how much there may be, he adds

I just saw Megan Kelly (for the first time, actually, and couldn’t stand it even for the two minutes I watched; she doesn’t speak; she SNEARS!) describing Carson’s alleged “wake up and claim your honor, Black Folks” speech. Her sneer is just intolerable. And there is Carson, having allegedly thought up all these brilliant ideas from his own non-surgical brain (Noah’s Ark any?) and he’s nobly and humbly accepting her sneering worshipful praise. Carson’s alleged brilliant op ed, by the way, is a fact-free thoughtless mash-up of all the racist ideas being two-bit marketed by the Repugs, and it’s no different from any self-righteous white trash gun-totin-confederate-flag-wavin’ a$$hole’s rap over cheetos and beer. OMG. OMG. OMG. Quality and candidate no longer fit in the same sentence.

    • Malisha says:

      misspelled “sneers.” Sorrry.

    • ed nelson says:

Bitches like that… Man, sneer, and all that too. I was a dumb ass kid once…I thought females that looked like that were the real deal…I was in awe of them… But those females are the worst! They go for the gold/ and that’s about it.

    • gblock says:

I didn’t see his op-ed. Do you have either a link to it, or can you tell me approximately when it came out and it what publication?

  5. anita says:

I think he is a complete nut job. He’s very creepy, just like you guys are saying with the squinty eyes & sleepy act.The pics inside his house are very disturbing. How can these stupid fucks not see thru these liars & nuts & think they could possibly make a good pres.? Carson blatantly lied in the debate about that supplement. Why didn’t the media make a bigger fuss over that? He’s calling this a witch hunt, saying Obama wasn’t scrutinized like he is being. What a laugh! Now tonite I get to watch Trump’s ass on SNL. Chris Matthews doesn’t call it “the clown car” for nothing. I keep telling my husb. they really aren’t funny, they’re dangerous.

    • You’re right. I laugh at them because they are so inept, but I would be terrified if they were elected.

    • ed nelson says:

About the last thing the ”Two Party” is going to allow to surface, would be a candidate with serious charisma, and normal mentality, that is anathema!

    • girlp says:

When he opens his mouth he lies nothing he’s said has been verified and I resent him playing up to the black inner city violent criminal kid stereotype who has turned into a good white man because Jesus ….who we know he knows personally because he had a portrait done with Jesus giving him a pat on the back. Who are these people supporting Carson they are as sick as Carson.

      • Malisha says:

Here’s my question about all these Repugnicans screaming about abortion and immigration and welfare and social security and taxes and blah blah blah: What were they doing with their time and money for the last 35 years? If they are opposed to abortion, tell us, how many times did they volunteer to go to abortion clinics and help women continue their pregnancies by promising to financially support and help them with the babies they could have? Carson: as a doctor, how many foundations did he set up to get other doctors to offer free medical services and financial aid to women who were pregnant and who were seriously considering abortions because they could not afford another (or “a”) baby? Do they have a history of helping women face the difficulties of child-birth and child-rearing? Have they saved A SINGLE LIFE? Anywhere? Anytime? In any way? Blah blah blah abortion. HAVE YOU given $20,000 to a pregnant woman to support her nine-month (and then 18-year) travail if she gives birth when she doesn’t believe she has the resources? If not, then SHUT THE F UP!

        • girlp says:

They don’t care about that they want to control women’s bodies based on what they believe are the laws from the old testement. No pre-marital sex, allowing husband rape etc. What they don’t realize is that abortion was legal at that time when the husband decided that his wife cheated and that it might not be his baby there was a posion given to the woman by a rabbi, if the baby and mother survive it’s his baby if not she cheated and God allowed her to die for committing adultry. Sounds familer doesn’t it (the witch hunts).

      • ed nelson says:

Right On! Girip, I agree. But one thing…. I don’t give a damn about this ahole… I am talking about the main thing….and you are one who I think know’s about it… I know… it is stupendous….
We who care, will have to figure some ways to find ways…. We who care… will need to find ways…
I will be gone soon…. I would say:be ready to die…even younsters should get ready! ’cause the Dick-headsthat are in control of our thing, are mainly daemonic Devils….Who want one thing: Kill all good humans….(Kill all good humans!).

        • girlp says:

It is going to be years before we can get these people out of office it going to take more disasters like this:http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/kentucky-confronts-the-consequences-its-decision?cid=eml_mra_20151110

Unfortunate but people are bringing all this on themselves by voting against their own interest and those of us who don’t want these evil people in office for not voting because we aren’t getting exactly what we want.

          • ed nelson says:

Some the issues, most of, are ”wedge issues”, or IOW’s Red herrings. Diversionary tactics, Republicans own it when it comes to ”Do nothing, and no change of anykind! They enjoy a niche that is maskerading as… ”Conservative”, in that they can say, look we want to keep things like they have always been, and we are not for speedy changes in anything, not ”Radical”, etc. etc.

So bring on the Red herrings, bring on the emotion laden issues like abortion, nobody likes abortion, but if your wife got raped by a psycho dude of another race, and he don’t have a pot to piss, are you going to raise the brat?

Wedge issues = diversion from the real issues.

          • girlp says:

Ed I see this every day, I work with people who are looking to the right while the right wing comes up behind them with a knife behind their backs. It’s all minorities fault, poor people’s fault, Obama (their favorite target) and anyone else they are suspicious of again Obama is their favorite he is responsible for issue that happen when he was in elementary school according to them it is unreal.

          • bettykath says:

The primary problem is the computer voting machines that elect whomever the programmer’s boss wants elected. Ballot box stuffing has been happening for as long as there have been elections, but technology has moved it to a whole new level. The first blatant tech election theft was in Fl for W. The computers have not been fixed. If anything, the security of these machines is even more compromised. So, while too many vote against their own interests, not so many as you would think. The new governor of KY is one who got in by computers flipping votes.

  6. Yikes! Check this out in the Guardian:

Ben Carson’s house: an homage to himself – in pictures.

He is seriously nuts. Gotta love the painting of Jesus standing behind him with his hand on Carson’s shoulder like he’s the Son of Man

    • girlp says:

Jesus loves Carson the most that’s why he gives him soooo much money…Carson is a covert narcissist.

      • Malisha says:

Not so covert. That’s a pretty big closet!

        • girlp says:

Scary that he speaks of so much violence in his life even though he seems to be lying about it, why does he think about it so much. People who knew him say’s he was the sterotypical nerd and actually had a pocket protector for his pens, they don’t remember him being violent at all. But, maybe violence is lurking in his mind somewhere suppose he eventually acts on it.

  7. ed nelson says:

Look at Brainiac’s eyes!…No not so’s you get ”hypnotized”like in the old Dracula movies!, but look at how he don’t miuch show his eye balls, always squintin’ and keeps closed in ”deep thought/snoozin,( thinkin’about how he will lie and avoid being ”jacketed” too easy.

  8. BTW, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar nailed Fiorina for lying about Planned Parenthood. From the Washington Post:

Fiorina got major pushback from the show’s all-female cast when, responding to a question about how she can be both pro-women and anti-abortion rights, she said that “whether you’re pro-choice or pro-life, the majority of Americans are horrified by the reality that we’re harvesting baby parts through late-term abortions.”

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg cut her off: “Carly, I need to stop you. I need to stop you because that is not — you know that’s not true.”

Fiorina came back with an assertion that “Planned Parenthood just announced they were no longer going to take compensation for that.”

That statement got Joy Behar riled up: “Please don’t say things like that, that are not true. That offends my sensibility to hear you say something like that when you know it’s not true.”

  9. Carson also suffers from Obama Derangement Syndrome. From Politico:

“You’re saying … the words [with which] a scholarship was offered is a big deal but the president of the United States, his academic records being sealed, is not? … Tell me how there’s equivalency there,” Carson said.“What you’re not gonna find with me is somebody who’s just going to sit back and let you be completely unfair without letting the American people … know what’s going on. And the American people are waking up to your games.”

Carson lied about the scholarship offer. His own words in his own book. No possibility for a misquote.

    The fascinating question is, why?

    He certainly didn’t need to.

    Something wrong there.

    • bettykath says:

Carson misunderstood. He was offered a spot at West Point which provides a free ride to all cadets. He didn’t know that. He was probably told that he would get a free ride and didn’t realize that it’s the case for everyone. I’ll give him a pass on that one.

      • gblock says:

I’d give him half a pass on that one. It’s true that everyone gets their expenses paid at West Point (although they don’t call it a scholarship because it comes with an obligation to serve in the Army for 4 years after graduation). But being encouraged to apply still is not the same as actually being guaranteed a spot.

    • gblock says:

Repeating the old claim suggesting that there’s something sinister about Obama’s academic records being “sealed” is another strike against Carson. In fact, EVERYONE’s academic records are private by law. They can only be released by permission of the student or former student. Of course, prospective employers and prospective graduate and professional schools can make releasing the records to them a practical necessity, since they commonly will not consider an application without those records. That still doesn’t make them public records. Most US presidents and presidential candidates have not made their transcripts public, only more general information like when they attended a given college or university and what degrees they received.

In addition, information that some of these people imply that they should be able to learn through Obama’s school records, like scholarships and loans received and whether he benefited from Affirmative Action, would generally not be included on someone’s transcript.

Carson’s claim about unfairness fails in another way as well. If you’re running for office on your life story, which Carson is and Obama was to some extent, it is reasonable for people to examine whether the more salient parts of that story are actually true.

  10. After George W. Bush was elected – and re-elected – I believe anything is possible, even a President Carson. I shudder at the thought.

    • girlp says:

Scary, Carson lives in an alternate universe he’s created in his mind. All he has to do is say it’s in the bible and the crazy teapub base follows.

  11. racerrodig says:

There is no doubt man is altering the environment. I use all types of commercially available chemicals and spray paints in my business. Almost everyone states there is some agent that does XYZ to the atmosphere.

The product of space exploration and provided untold advances, such as extreme heat paints and coating (I use them on headers) adhesives, I use them on, well, everything, but the down side is what is used to make the end product or expel it from a can.

There is no doubt that the collective use is damaging the atmosphere. It even says so on the cans for cryin’ out loud.

One of the carburetor cleaners that is in aerosol spray form even has a skull & crossbones and says very plainly this product causes cancer in laboratory animals AND “This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproduction harm”

There is no way anybody will convince me we are not screwing up the planet…………all the chemicals dumped everywhere are polluting the water. Every chemical emitted into the atmosphere does what…….make me breathe easier ???

It’s called air “pollution” and the polluted part doesn’t just dissipate like steam. Nooooooooooo, It’s negatively altering our world.

In 1990 my wife and I bought a 32 ft. motor yacht that we kept at a Marina on the Delaware River on the Jersey side opposite Philly. One fine summer Fri. we went down to spend the weekend on the boat and every horizontal surface was yellow. We were told that the chemical plant downriver a mile had some sort of problem where something fairly dangerous was spewed into the air.

It took me 2 weeks and $500.00 or so in various cleaners to get the boat white again. The govt deemed them untouchable on this for damages and nobody was ever given any info on what it was.

My point is that something strong enough to turn brand new fiberglass yellow and took what seemed forever to remove didn’t help anybody’s health…….only a die hard Republican would argue that one.

Yep………….200 or more discolored boats…..proof positive.

  12. Malisha says:

You do not have to deny that the climate of the earth changed substantially since the beginning of time and until the present political presence of a government on this continent in order to believe that the accelerated NEGATIVE climate change (previously known as “global warming” before its brand was improved) is the result of human activity that unnecessarily and dangerously disturbed nearly all the balances previously established by the already-changing environment. That is, YES, the climate has been changing since time immemorial, but NO, the climate-change that is threatening our very life NOW is NOT imaginary, unproven, or inconsequential. It has been caused by known, identified, dangerous practices that we need to STOP before (and even IF) it is too late.

“Not believing it” is either delusional or recklessly profit-motivated political and should not be tolerated in anyone holding or running for public office. PERIOD. For the Republican party to espouse “responsibility” for poor people to find their own food when they have no resources or incomes, and then to reject RESPONSIBILITY when it comes to climate change, is criminal.

  13. Here’s another Ben Carson statement,

Even if all the media tries to shut you down—which they have tried very much to do with me. But they can’t because the good Lord has provided me with mechanisms like my syndicated column and like Fox News. We’d be Cuba if there were no Fox News.

He also believes many Americans are stupid.

    • bettykath says:

Oh, that’s the explanation. His source is Fox News. I could have guessed but so many are saying how intelligent he is. Not only is he ignorant, he’s not doing anything to fix it. Considering his choice of source, I have to be skeptical about his intelligence.

  14. ed nelson says:

Climate change is… too big of a concept! Sure nature changes climate, and then comes Man, and man can pretty obvious, push the change a little bit more, just enough to destabalize it from the natural range of… deviation, (think of it like that).

So I propose leaving ”climate change” for a minute to the side, and see if we can get any concensus on… man causing f’n Pollution!
And Environmental degradation, Forrests, rivers, etc… Urban Blight!

And the air is full of soot and gives everbody asthma.

    • And so you agree that man can change air quality – why is it so hard to extend the same concept to accept that activity by man is affecting climate?

    • bettykath says:

Climate does change but things that accentuate and accelerate change include:
      * deforestation which results in a rise in temperature (trees clean the air and help keep the air and earth cool), There are maps available that show the amount of deforestation worldwide. Did those trees all die and leave no remains all on their own?
      * burning of fossil fuels which release CO2. This has accelerated as the population has grown and as the number of vehicles (cars, trucks, planes, war machines) has increased.
      * Nuclear power plants release lots of heat into the waterways. They use nearby lakes, river, oceans to cool the plants.
      * The temperature increases due to the above have resulted in the permafrost thawing and releasing megatons of methane.
      * Speaking of methane, how about the increase in our beef eating and the increase in the number of animals releasing methane.

As the temperature rises and the glaciers melt, the salinity of the oceans decrease, resulting in a change in the patterns of ocean currents. Land masses depend on the oceans for moderating temperature. When the temperature of the oceans increases, the temperature of the air increases.

When the tipping point is reached, there are people who will have seen it coming. Then there those who deny it and will wonder what hit them.

  15. President Obama just announced that he has rejected the Keystone XL Pipeline

  16. And now this from Politico,

Ben Carson’s campaign on Friday admitted, in a response to an inquiry from POLITICO, that a central point in his inspirational personal story was fabricated: his application and acceptance into the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

    • And still people will support him. I despair. He may have been a decent neurosurgeon, but he’s showing himself to be some sort of narcissistic sociopath with his desire to be president and his propensity to lie.

    • bettykath says:

POLITICO isn’t a very reliable source. I read another article that quoted from his book, what he actually said was that he was a top ROTC cadet in hs. As such he had dinner with a military mucky-muck who offered him a slot at West Point. Carson ended up deciding to study medicine and not go to West Point, so he never applied. Since West Point doesn’t charge tuition, etc., which Carson didn’t know, it seems reasonable for him to assume that he had a full scholarship. The point being, he never said he applied or was accepted.

I won’t defend much of anything else he said. I don’t know how intelligent he is, but I know for a certainty that he is unbelievably ignorant.

  17. Bill Taylor says:

WOW…….since the climate constantly changes and the entire record shows that, climate change is fact and happened long before humans were even here to blame humans for climate change is so utterly stupid……..WOW….humans do NOT control the weather and to change the climate REQUIRES one be able to control the weather first….the climate is simply the average weather from the previous 30 years for a given area………

    • No credible climate scientist in the world agrees with your view.

      • Bill Taylor says:

but ALL people that understand basic science DO agree with my factual post…are YOU saying the climate had a period of not changing? science does NOT show that…….are you saying the climate is something other than the average weather from the previous 30 years?…please point out anything i wrote that was incorrect……..and science is NEVER done by consensus

    • Climate change does not mean that humans control the weather, it means that human actions affect the climate pattern.
