New video in Kendrick Johnson case confirms he was wearing long pants

Thursday, November 7, 2013

Good afternoon:

The video that I was eagerly anticipating today in the Kendrick Johnson case is basically useless.

The extremely blurry video released by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office makes it impossible to determine if Kendrick Johnson ever approached the area of the gym where the mats were stored. The video also does not display the critically important area at the top of the mats, so there is no way to determine if anyone was there at any time relevant to the investigation. The video has a herky-jerky quality because the cameras were responding to motion detection sensors.

However, one shot of Kendrick inside the gym just after he entered through the hallway door confirms my observation yesterday that he was wearing long pants.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we still have a mystery.

Maybe this has been asked before or mentioned somewhere but when it shows KJ in the rolled mat does it not show a pair of shoes with him (white nike i believe) that are NOT on his socked feet? I know the photo’s are poorly done at best as is the video but one must wonder why he would be shoeless whether he was trying to retrieve his other shoes or not? Also, his socks don’t look as though he had been walking on a dirty school floor which was obviously quite busy that day which is shown in the video, so his white socks should have some indication on them that he was walking through the gym shoeless unless of course he was carried or placed there as we all suspect!

What Kendrick was wearing is confusing. The Ebony article said shorts and shirtless. The CNN report says he was wearing jeans and layered orange and white shirts.

    • Frustrating, isn’t it?

Photographs of his body, after it was removed from the rolled-up mat, and a review of the autopsy report should resolve any doubts about what he was wearing.

As you know, I believe he wore long pants into the gym and was wearing blue jean shorts when found. Maybe he had the shorts on under the long pants and maybe he didn’t.

Whether or not he did, I want to know what happened to the long pants and who placed his white athletic shoes in the tube next to his hip.

The pants would not be missing and the shoes would not be where they were found, if his death were an accident.

      • Malisha says:

IF he were looking into the mat for his shoes, then he would have had OTHER shoes on his feet. People do not find a storage place for their ONLY pair of shoes; they don’t need to store them; they wear them. If he had shoes ON his feet and there were also another pair of shoes IN the mat, then that ridiculous explanation would be one fifth of one percent less ridiculous, perhaps.

(CNN) — Police are investigating whether a 19-year-old Detroit woman who was shot and killed on the front porch of a home was simply looking for help after a car crash.
The homeowner told police the shotgun accidentally discharged, striking Renisha McBride in the face, Dearborn Heights Police Capt. Jeffrey Seipenko said Thursday.
“This man’s claiming — believed the girl was breaking into the home. And he’s also saying the gun discharged accidentally,” Lt. James Serwatowski, chief detective, was quoted as saying in the Detroit Free Press.

  5. Drew says:

I mean the police dept. would have us believe that the when the guy captured on camera at night suddenly disappears, that is merely a function of wonky motion detection.

Like the attorneys say, too many coincidences – horrible, laughable, disgusting explanation of “accidental” death; logistical anomalies (he wouldn’t fit, he would stick out and people would see him); no time of death, conveniently; fake cause of death as reported by the original investigators; contaminated evidence; removed evidence; failure to collect relevant evidence; failure to collect statements or perform questioning (i.e., the outcome of the investigation was decided prior to the investigation having started); no time stamps on video (I believe the video tampering can and will be exposed if it did occur); blurry footage of the actual mats (decent looking footage everywhere else); weird Facebook threats toward other black friends (sorry, but how is that not a bigger deal? Trayvon Martin’s selfies on Facebook were a huge deal yet they had no bearing on actual evidence, whereas this is actually a potential link); general lack of care and empathy toward the victim and family.

  6. Drew says:

“For instance, in one image, a man seen walking away from the gym in what appears to be an image captured late at night suddenly disappears from a series of images shot by a motion-activated camera. Other images shot at other times capture people walking in that same location, attorney Chevene King said.”

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/07/justice/georgia-gym-mat-death/

    More at the link.

In the article, the coroner speaks of a contaminated crime scene, with evidence having been touched, moved, removed, the body moved, etc.

    Doctored digital “evidence”? CHECK.

    Contaminated crime scene? CHECK.

Complicit and or incompetent law enforcement response? CHECK.

Outcome of investigation decided before investigation was even performed, thus ensuring that any “investigation” is obligatory and phony. Probably.

Reminds me of another case, in a way.

  7. Professor, was there a problem discussing, “organ harvesting?” It relates to the topic of Kendrick Johnson and the recent video released by the Official Medical Examiner who is standing by his findings. In a recent interview on CNN, he clearly avoided any questions about Mr. Johnson body parts missing. This is happening all over the world not only in the US of A… This is extremely heartbreaking and traumatizing.

    • I don’t have a problem with discussing organ harvesting, but I doubt that it happened to Kendrick because organs have to be harvested within a few minutes of death or they won’t function.

      • MDH says:

        Exactly.

Once oxygenated blood is no longer fed to organs, the tissue starts to die unless the organs are immediately harvested and cooled down to a point wherein cell degeneration is slowed.

Of course, losing the organs prevents microscopic examination of tissue that might support or debunk asphyxiation as cause of death, when subject to examination by a second pair of eyes.

What this case has in common with the Zimmerman debacle is an attitude amongst those investigating that they already have a conclusion and any examination of evidence is matched to the conclusion. IOW, a total mockery of science and objectivity.

Selection bias is a hallmark of the white racist paradigm.

How often have we heard a right winger say?

“well, it is not my fault that blacks are drug users”

That conclusion is based on the fact that black people are in prison for drug crimes at rates far in excess of whites.

However, every medical study that uses scientific methods with proper random sampling shows that rates of drug use amongst whites and blacks is largely the same.

So how come there are more blacks in prison?

        Selection bias.

If I had a black coin and a white coin wherein heads mean you are guilty, but selected the black coin at four times the rate of the white {arrest}, and then flipped the coin to determine guilt {trial}, there would be four times as many guilty black coins as white.

Cops targeting black people is racism {a form of selection bias in action} in action.

        • Yep, absolutely right.

The more likely explanation is that the organs were disposed of to prevent further analysis.

          • MDH says:

That is a bone of contention amongst the Kennedy Assassination theorists. The slides taken of his brain and the brain itself were lost. And that organ was subject to massive trauma.

The idea is that further technological developments or a second {better} pair of eyes can shed new light on a crime not easily solved.

    • The reason your two comments were held up for review was you had two links in each one. Word press automatically does that to prevent spam, regardless of the subject matter. I approved them when I saw them.

Many people suspected from the beginning the sheriff relative was deeply involved with Kendrick’s death. Interesting it takes months for another family to obtain information about their deceased child. Nothing will happen to the individuals that committed this crime in the good old US of A.

Dick Gregory said it best, “Organ harvesting is the biggest money maker but you will never hear about it in this country.” Read The New York Times article that was written on July 24, 2009 by Benyamin Cohen concerning a major arrest of two state legislators and several rabbis were among more than 40 people arrested in New Jersey for organ theft.

According to legal documents, ten thousand people that disappeared during the Rodney King riots may have been murdered and their body parts sold. Family members to this day cannot locate their relatives who disappeared after being gathered and arrested, during the Rodney King riots.

It was suspect why Trayvon Martin blood was tested and why his body rested in a morgue for three days without anyone knowing his location. Now Kendrick Johnson body mysteriously is missing body parts and no one will take responsibility. This is extremely heartbreaking and traumatizing for any family. I will hope for justice but can not see it happening with a corrupt police and school system.

    • Two sides to a story says:

Trayvon Martin’s body did not rest in a morgue for three days without anyone knowing his location. Nor did 10,000 people disappear during the Rodney King riots. Stop spreading such horrendous disinformation! :[

      • EveryoneIsEntitledToTheirOpinion says:

Try being a professional. Listen to the COMPLETE Nancy Grace and CNN interview with the parents. The father called around trying to locate his son and had a time obtaining his body. By the way, try researching a little deeper I happen to believe the parents words.

In addition, it is in public record about the 10,000 people missing from the Rodney King riots and many family members are still looking for their loved ones. Info came from two sheriffs in Los Angeles whom I personally confirmed it through after reading about “Michael Mastromarino.” Your mind is narrow and again I happen to believe in people who have invested in fighting illegal activities like body harvesting, child trafficking, and civil rights activist whom are now bringing attention to this nightmare.

Try researching the Rodney King disappearances…. Our media will never report it and it is something that was always a hush… I respect everyone’s opinion try respecting mine and your name-calling is unprofessional and unnecessary.

        Your arrogance is unnecessary.

        • Two sides to a story says:

It’s not arrogance. Tracy Martin located his son less than 24 hours after Trayvon Martin’s death. THere’s no substantiation anywhere that 10,000 people disappeared during the Rodney King riots. Zero.

        • Two sides to a story says:

Not to mention that I support fighting illegal activities like body harvest and child trafficking, but I do so with veriafiable stories and data.

I called no names, but I do urge you to get your stories straight and stop spreading misinformation.

          • EveryoneIsEntitledToTheirOpinion says:

I have my opinion and you have yours. If you read correctly I verified this with 2 sheriffs. Listen you will not find certain information online especially when people want things hidden. I verified in horror with two sheriffs of 25 years because I did not believe it myself. I was around when the riots broke out and the media reported several arrested and it dropped from the news. Many years later I heard it from a long time civil rights activists at a convention then confirmed it with law enforcement.

You are just nasty and a want to be. Because you can’t find it on the Internet doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Try federal docs whom I have a sister in the Feds. The public only knows what you are told try going behind the scene.

          • EveryoneIsEntitledToTheirOpinion says:

Yes, my companion is in law enforcement and I’ve already said too much. Furthermore, do not respond to my post if you cannot give your opinion without attempting to degrade people for theirs. It appears you have problem with respect. This is a blog and everyone have a right to his or her opinion. Case closed.

    • Two sides to a story says:

A particular doctor in a particular hospital in a SW city tried to harvest a kidney from my mentally-challenged adult son about a decade ago. The situation was handled quite cleverly. They told him he had a kidney that needed to be removed or he would die. He had complained of pain in his side while on a psych floor. Then they moved him to the medical floor, but he refused to sign permission papers for surgery. When I found out about the incident, I took him to a doctor in another location who could find no problem with either of his kidneys. And when I tried to trace the incident with medical records from the hospital, there was no record of this particular doctor and no record that they had moved my son from the mental health area to the surgical area, though there is confirmation that he called me from that particular area.

Frustrating and I wonder how often this goes on. My son may be mentally challenged but he’s clearheaded enough to report a true story and I have no doubt at all that this happened. The doctor in my town who examined my son felt that his story was plausible.

Manalo thinks GZ is guilty and tried to shoot UPS truck. Oh and he has a book deal. Sickening.

    http://www.nbcnews.com/video/the-grio/53248543

    • Manalo’s testimony about the UPS incident would have been inadmissible hearsay.

      • J4TMinATL says:

I knew that but it’s interesting to hear him say he thinks GZ is guilty.

      • MDH says:

True, but it confirms our belief that Zimmerman is a nut case menace to society who should have been put away for a long time, if rational minds not poisoned by racism had been able to try and judge him.

        Maybe I am being conceited.

I spent seven years during my HS and college days working in a liquor store. We saw it all.

Anyhow, the first time I heard Zimmerman’s voice the “it’s one of those guys who might pull out a gun and shoot at the airplanes attacking him” alarm bell went off in my head.

In that business {liquor store clerk} you learn to humor those types so that you are not on their radar when the melt down comes.

        Detroit joke:

Q: What do you call a cashier in a liquor store?

        A: A target.

I really get a laugh at the people who call Trayvon a thug. From what I observed, Trayvon looked like one of those kids who would come in and make our boring day a little better. Hell, I probably would have shoot the shit about airplanes with him. Zimmerman, on the other hand, looks like the kind of ass who would come in and complain about something we sold him – just because being an ass is part an parcel of what he is.

Real thugs are people who came into the place I worked on a regular basis. If George had pulled that stunt with one of them, he would have been eliminated with extreme prejudice.

I hate to say this, but thugs tend to mind their own business. So I would actually feel safer around them than with Zimmerman.

        • You all have thoughtful comments says:

your assessments combined with my experience living/working in the inner barrio of san francisco’s mission district strikes me as right on.

      • Two sides to a story says:

Methinks maybe it’s about time for accumulated incidents to have some clout and not be considered hearsay in US courts of law. There’s are just too many incidents that point to Fogen’s continual and habitual aggressive carelessness. He’s a loose cannon. Hopefully karma is catching up to him.

        • The hearsay problem could be cured by having the UPS driver testify, but his testimony likely would have been barred by Rule 404(b). That rule generally excludes evidence of other crimes or bad acts unless they are probative of a specific issue in the case, such as motive, intent, knowledge, common scheme or plan, or absence of mistake or accident.

Evidence of a propensity to commit a crime is not admissible.

          • acemayo says:

The bus driver story that say TM hit him got all over the news
but never proven, but this story only came to light after
the trail, remember GZ wife said she never saw him angry
            GZ is a cream puff

          • MDH says:

            @acemayo

            I agree.

The trial in the so-called liberal media put out everything they could find about Trayvon being thuggish and, IMO, failed; yet blithely ignored a substantial amount of tangible evidence that George was a paranoid, insecure loose cannon who need not be allowed to roam our streets with a loaded gun.

And we here at this blog are criticized for not giving sweet innocent Georgie Poo due process.

            What about Trayvon?

          • Malisha says:

I think his behavior with the UPS driver is evidence of motive and intent.

          • You would lose that argument in a court of law.

          • Two sides to a story says:

THanks, Professor. I still think a little more common sense needs to be used in courtrooms, especially when there’s a long history of certain events, such as Fogen’s history of NEN calls, etc. HIs supporters look at them as evidence of a high-crime neighborhood, but those along with the UPS guy incident point to someone who might harm an innocent person.

          • GZ created the appearance of a high-crime neighborhood with his stupid whining calls. It was not a high crime neighborhood.

      • Malisha says:

If he told BDLR, however, and if BDLR wanted to win the case, however, BDLR could have gotten the UPS driver on the stand and that would NOT be inadmissible hearsay.

BDLR lost because he wanted to lose. He was doing Corey’s dirty work for her and she was doing Wolfinger’s dirty work for him and they were all doing dirty work for the new Klan.

    • bettykath says:

Interesting. He had information about what happened that contradicted fogen’s story but the prosecution never asked him about it. Fogen said he asked Manalo to help restrain Trayvon but that didn’t happen. Fogen was already on his cell phone and Trayvon’s arms were under him. Lots of evidence about what really happened but the prosecution just didn’t bother.

      • colin black says:

Of course they didn’t bother it was a show trial.

The eejit wasn’t even arrested an was sent on his merry way with good kill if it hadn’t been the wronk type of AA you shot no biggie you meant well.

An with a jury picked with that mindset what was the point of trotting out all the evidence an contradictions when it was a slam dunk aquitall.

After all when peacefull protesters are referred to as rioters what chance did Trayvon an his Family ever have for justice.

Simmilar type jury will aquit Dunn of Jordans Murder as well.

        • Two sides to a story says:

I have a hard time believing that Dunn could walk. What a nightmare that would be.

Good to see you again, Colin!

        • Drew says:

Dunn’s camp will argue that he was fearful of blacks trying to kill him and take over the country and that when they got into an altercation about the scary music that roughly translated to “kill all whites” in Dunn’s mind, he reacted as any rational person would under that set of circumstances and in the grips of such life-threatening fear.

I think your original thought is still valid that he changed into shorts. The Ebony article says he was wearing shorts and no shirt when he was found, As was pointed out on the previous thread, he could have been wearing his shorts under his long pants (what happened to his long pants?) or he may have gone into a locker room to change. (what happened to his long pants?)

The second autopsy report indicates that he has defensive wounds on his hands as if he were held down by more than one person while another delivered the fatal blow.

    • Drew says:

      Shorts and no shirt?

Clearly he was reading atop the mats when he fell in to his death!
