Zimmerman’s Theater of the Absurd

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

Good morning to all of our friends:

In the aftermath of the unjust verdict, the mainstream media continues to pay attention to George Zimmerman and his nutcase family. He profiled, stalked and executed an unarmed kid who was not doing anything wrong. He got away with murder because the legal system failed to hold him responsible for what he did.

The mainstream media should be focused on analyzing and explaining why the legal system failed and what can be done to fix it.

Instead we have been assaulted with stories calculated to promote an image of Zimmerman as a good guy with a gun.

To top it off, the Blaze reports:

Public Policy Polling, a Democratic polling firm, published a recent survey of Alaskans in which George Zimmerman is included as a possible Republican contender in the 2016 presidential election.

“Given the choices of Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Rick Santorum, and George Zimmerman, who would you most like to see as the GOP candidate for President in 2016?” reads the survey. Two percent of respondents picked Zimmerman.

He is not Superman, Batman or any other comic book hero.

The simple truth: He is a psychopath with a loaded gun and he is out on a highway somewhere looking for adventure and whatever comes his way.

Pray it isn’t you.

We are in serious financial trouble and we need your immediate help. Donations have dropped precipitously since the Zimmerman trial ended and we cannot pay our bills. Our power will be shut off in 8 days.

Please help.

I don’t know how the voteing goes in America but Im pretty sure its not proportional representation.

So many peoples votes are worthless

In the UK we have a first past the post system In essence if a seat is up for election to Parliament

In a constituency with fifty thousand voters an there are two candites.

24THOUSAND 999 PEOPLE VOTE FOR ONE PERSON 25thousand an one vote for the other an they are victourous..

In essence then the 24 thousand an 999 votes count for naught an they are tottlly disenfranchised.

I suspect Americas voteing system similar if not even more dissenfrancheing.

This just in from Ben Jealous at the NAACP:

    Hello,

A few weeks ago, you raised your voice on behalf of Trayvon Martin. I said there would be upcoming opportunities to seek justice for Trayvon. One of those opportunities is coming up on August 24th.

The NAACP, along with the National Action Network, Realizing the Dream, and many other conveners will host a march in Washington, D.C. to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.

Like the original march in 1963, we will raise our voices around a shared message of civil liberty, civil rights, and economic freedom and opportunity for all. We will also march on behalf of Trayvon, and the thousands of other young African American men who have been the victims of racial profiling and gun violence.

Lynne, this is a people’s movement. It will be energized by your participation. We march for a brighter future, and in the memory of a young man taken far too soon. Will you join us?

RSVP for the 50th anniversary March on Washington on Saturday, August 24, 2013.

Can’t make it but still want to help? Join the NAACP or renew your membership today.

If the last few months have taught us anything, it’s that our work to defend civil rights and human rights for all is nowhere near finished.

Discriminatory laws cripple the chances of too many people, of all ages and backgrounds, who want nothing more than a shot at the American Dream.

Voter disenfranchisement means that our most vulnerable citizens might not have proper representation in government. We cannot call ourselves a democracy when so many Americans still lack free and unfettered access to the ballot box.

And far, far too many of our children are gunned down in senseless acts of violence every day. Right now, a group of young NAACP members and the Dream Defenders are taking a courageous stand at the Florida State Capitol. They are demanding that Trayvon’s Laws be enacted in Florida and around the country to combat racial profiling and “Stand Your Ground” laws.

We’ve made incredible progress, but we have a long way to go. We must carry the torch of freedom and equality forward for the next generation. So we march again on August 24th. We march for those who have been trampled by injustice and for all our heroes who marched 50 years ago. This grassroots movement belongs to you.

Will you be there? RSVP for the 50th anniversary March on Washington:

  8. Woow! says:

The Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the proposed 2013-2014 budget during a public budget hearing held Tuesday, July 9. The new budget is based upon a higher tax rate that was previously approved by the board on June 25 and must now be approved by voters in a Tax Ratification Election (TRE) to be held September 21.

The tax rate increase from $1.54 per $100 of assessed home value to $1.67 per $100 of assessed home value was approved by the board to balance the budget and to help compensate for more than $15 million in state funding cuts the district has experienced since the Texas legislature eliminated $5.3 billion from public education in 2011.

When that happened, MISD lost more than $11 million in funding for the 2011-2012 school year and was forced to cut 134 jobs, including just over 4 percent of its teachers and 11 percent of its administration/support staff positions. The District considered cost-cutting options to minimize the negative impact on student learning—such as asking coaches to obtain commercial driver’s licenses so they could drive teams to and from sporting events and requiring administrators to substitute teach. The combined cuts saved millions of dollars, but again in 2012–2013, the District faced more reductions in state funding—$4.4 million this time.

The news out of Austin this spring that lawmakers would restore $3.4 billion to public education offered some hope that the District might see a significant recovery of lost funding, but the reality is that MISD’s share is only about $4.3 million over the next two years.

“The 82nd legislative session cut our funding by more than $15 million over the biennium,” said MISD Superintendent, “and the most recent legislature only restored 27.5 percent of those cuts—which leaves us with about $11 million less revenue than what we had previously.”

“So, either we maintain our current programs, or we are going to have to reduce how we deliver services to our students. We’ve got to make up the difference, and that’s why we adopted a budget that is going to require us to go to the voters for a tax increase,” he said.

Revenue can be increased to a maximum of $1.17 by calling, and the patrons passing, a TRE. Texas law allows the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) tax rate to be set above $1.04 if a majority of voters in the district approve the increase. If the tax rate is set above $1.04, a TRE is automatically triggered. The M&O tax rate of $1.17 approved by the Board of Trustees on June 25 combined with the Principal and Interest Obligation tax rate of 50 cents resulted in the new rate of $1.67 that will be put to the vote on September 21.

Without the tax increase, MISD will be forced to make deep budget cuts to account for the current $10.7 million revenue shortfall. Those cuts include:
Reduction of personnel in all areas
    Reduction of student support areas
    Increase in student/teacher ratios
    Reduction in all extra-curricular areas
Reduction in CTE and G/T offerings
The District anticipates cuts of approximately 290 teachers and administration/support staff to meet the budget deficit should the TRE not pass.

“There were several districts that received almost a full restoration of funding,” said Dr. Kennedy. “McKinney ISD was not one of those districts, which is unfortunate.”

This is happening all TX and states where stupid governors cut education funding. My property taxes are rising again.

A conviction and prison sentence in her case could be a good source of the truth about what really happened, not the case as presented by the prosecution, but what actually happened…. Does anyone have a source that is following up on her case or has it gone the way of the Ford Edsel? Anything new on the Dunn case? Is the new judge that was appointed going to be the one to hear the case? Is AC still planning on handling the Dunn case herself? Lot’s of questions and few answers to be found…..

colin black, Does the UK have any race relation problems? Or is the USA the only nation that has that problem? Does the UK have a history of war (empire building?) in it’s past or is it only the USA that has one? Does the UK have a problem with immigration or is it only a problem with certain racial demographics that are immigrating that the UK has a problem with? I really don’t have so much a problem with the USA bashing that is evident in todays world as much as I do with those that do it and ignore similar problems in their own nation… It would seem that rock throwing while living in glass houses is all the rage in these current times…. Part of the reason the USA is so easily critiqued about the racial problems is that it is not being hidden or swept under the carpet and kept out of sight, how many other nations can say that their race problems are out in the open for all to see, much as it is in the USA? Perhaps if we as members of a world wide society would work harder at resolving the problem (together?) instead of simply diverting attention from our own nations internal racial discord, we could devise a means or method of advancing the goal of equality for all people world wide?
I might also ask in regards to the statements you make about our presidents (past and present) do not your current and former leaders also share in the guilt of murder and mayhem around the world? Did your leaders not also lead your nation into war against the Iraqi people under false pretenses? Your prime minister might not have dropped the bombs or fired the bullets but did he not sign the order to do so? It also says that the percentage of the population in the “Thirteen Colonies” who were of African descent rose from 10% to 40% between the years 1650 and 1780!

For the people like juror b37 who believe the cold-blooded murder was self-defense, the case is simple: There was a picture of Zimmerman with some blood on him and the kid who had been shot dead was black, so the dead black kid must have attacked Zimmerman because that’s what black kids do and black kids are so incredibly strong (because they are semi-evolved apes) the only way a normal human being (non-black person) can save their lives when they attack, is with a gun. Case-closed.

Irrational, illogical, impulsive, rage-filled, wild, bestial, criminally inclined, subhuman creatures prone to savage violence is how African-Americans are widely viewed in post-racial America, which is at the heart of why so many people believe that a scared, skinny 17 year old boy “jumped” an adult stranger without provocation after running away from him and viciously beat him to within an inch of his life before trying to murder him with his own gun and why they find Zimmerman’s absurd claim that it was him screaming in terror believable.

“Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the criminal justice system,’ I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.”

“We don’t think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23. That’s true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such.”

“If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be.”

People that says blacks are in prison because we do the most
    crime should read this

The report was prompted by late 2010 remarks — reported by The Seattle Times — by Washington Supreme Court Justices Richard Sanders and James Johnson that blacks are over-represented in prisons because they commit a greater portion of crimes than white people. A coalition of about 30 universities and legal groups including the Washington Bar Association examined that claim, which resulted in the briefing during the legislative session that ended earlier this month. Sanders later lost a re-election bid for the Supreme Court.
“We found that the assertion attributed to then-Justice Sanders that African-Americans are overrepresented in the prison population because they commit a disproportionate number of crime is a gross oversimplication,” the report said……………………………………………………………..
The study coalition crunched numbers from the criminal justice systems across the state, finding that in 2010:
An arrested black person had a 6.1 times greater chance of getting prison time than a similar white criminal. The King County ratio was 10.9 times as much. Pierce County’s ratio was six times as much. Other ratios included 8.4 in Thurston County, six in Kitsap County, 4.7 in Snohomish County, 62.2 in Clark County, and 83.9 in Yakima County.
While an arrested Latino had a 1.5 times greater chance of getting prison time than a similiar white arrestee statewide, the chance was twice a much as a white person in King County. Pierce County was 1.3 times as much. Other ratios included 1.1 in Thurston County, 1.6 in Kitsap County, 0.8 in Snohomish County, and 19.1 in Asotin County.
An arrested Native American had a 4.1 times greater chance of getting prison time than a similar white arrestee. That chance was 7.2 times as much in King County. In statistics, there are two factors in play:

Selection bias – is a particular subset of a group being selected in numbers higher than what would be expected, when given their proportion with respect to the group?

For example, if I have a group of ten thousand balls wherein 10% of the balls are red and my sample of 100 has 60 red balls, then there is selection bias. Furthermore, if my population of balls has 1% of all balls marked with the word criminal wherein the 1% hold for red or other colored balls, then my sample will likely have 6 red balls marked criminal and 4 other colored balls marked criminal.

What does this have to do with so-called black criminality?

It is well known that law enforcement selectively targets black people for crimes and, as such, this form of selection bias results in higher proportion of black people in jail, although their actual rate of criminal behavior may be the same or even less {random sampling in the case of drug usage indicates this} than the general population.

My argument also debunks using the proportion of peoples in prison as a reasonable measure of actual crime rates.

Self confirmation bias – humans exposed to propaganda tend to have pre-conceived notions that taint making an objective determination about a situation.

IOW, a jury that is constantly bombarded by the media with the notion that black people are criminals is more likely to judge a black person guilty. This compounds the problem of selection bias.

I spent many years in target detection systems wherein proper sampling of data helps to determine friend from foe.

So if you are arguing with one of these Mr Macho Conservatives, ask a simple question.

Would they want a mental midget like GZ with his finger on the trigger in the heat of battle determining who to kill in the fog of war?

They would not even care, we had such a person in the office for eight long years of lies and destruction….. I still gag every time I hear the story where he said that one day he decided he did not want to fly anymore. If I (as a commissioned officer in the USMC) had gone to my CO and told him I no longer wanted to fly, I would have instantly found myself in the Brig where I would still be today…. Cowardice perhaps knows no political party, but it seems strange that the ranks of the GOP/TP/Libertarian party seems to hold an unusually high number of arm chair warriors….

There was political pressure that drove this verdict, and race was a factor, but not the total reason. When we finally figure out who it was that had the clout to create the travesty of justice and for what reason, we will finally be able to progress toward justice and equality for all people… Until we reach that stage will all we have is words of despair and woe…. The real question that I must ask is where do we go from here? Do we sit back and lick our wounds or do we admit to ourselves we have lost a battle (a large and important one) but not the war. We have several choices, such as sitting around whining about how life is so unfair, or regrouping and start pulling ourselves out of the muck going on the offensive and taking charge of the situation and forcing the change to begin, or simply slink back into our normal everyday lives and hope someone else will cause change to come about… You do as you wish, I fully intend to be the thorn in their side that they can not remove with ease….

      • MDH says:

They seem to conflate using violence with not being a coward. So untrue. Desmond Doss was arguably the greatest hero in our nation’s history.

Violence is often used out of fear.

Seriously, how much guts would it had took for GZ to get out of that car without a gun, identify himself, and state his reason for following Trayvon?

Yes, I like the idea of being a permanent thorn in their sides.

Interesting study but it only scratches the surface.

If I’m reading correctly, they took all who were arrest and compared conviction rates. They also compared prison time vs all other dispositions or was it just a comparison of prison vs other dispositions once found guilty?

Another step would be to normalize the percentage based on percent of population, that is, likelihood of being arrested in the first place.

Another interesting question would be to see what would happen to the prison population if non-whites were given prison time at the same rate as whites such that the prison population became more like the general population. Fewer inmates would lower the cost of maintaining the prisons. Uh, oh. I slid into a reason that it’s not likely to happen, apart from the racial bias. That is not to diminish the importance of the racial bias which has a bigger purpose of keeping “those” people in line and out of the political and decision-making process to the extent possible.

I’m wondering if Raimondo was at all interested in whether or not the ME had done an HIV test on Trayvon. I know that years back when I gave first aid to an accident victim — even not CPR, just assistance (he was breathing) — I was on pins and needles waiting for word about HIV. A friend of mine who was a physician and rendered roadside aid to a motorcycle victim (pneumothorax) was likewise very concerned. Hmmmm.

Tim Smith’s whole story is bullcrap. I don’t know about the rest of them. Wagner’s idiotic story about the photograph — who besides BDLR would have “believed” any of it?

What they all did together in this criminal charade is so obvious.

Add to that fact her clumsy attempt to sympathize with Sybrina alienated Trayvon supporters who would be the only ones interested in reading a book by the only juror who initially believed that George was guilty of Murder 2.

I did have a thought about the jury makeup and what you said. I think the jury pool was naturally going to be predominantly apathetic white, not just because of the area, but most non whites and empathetic, active whites were outraged and concerned, and were vocal and informed about the murder situation The only friends I knew that had little to no knowledge of the case where those that have very limited exposure to ANY non white people at all. It does not mean they are actively racially biased, it just means they were unconcerned, unaffected, and had no motivation to actually understand the case. THOSE were the jury pool they had.

I agree that J37 is actively biased, but the rest could have been as apathetic and unconcerned as the people I knew that has little, if any knowledge of the case outside of an internet news headline.

I think J29 was brow beat into voting not guilty by the active racially biased and then by the apathetic jurors in life.

No. The defense challenged four others, two of whom were put on the jury. b37 was not one of them. We checked this out a few threads back. There was no challenge for this juror.

      • Mary Davis says:

@ bettykath. Even if the prosecution challenged B37, after hearing her prejudiced statements, can you honestly believe she would have changed her mind about her decision. Remember she was already on the jury. If you are talking about the prosecution striking her as a juror, well I think we can blame JN for that.

        • Mary Davis says:

Sorry bettykath, I didn’t know that B37 was not challenged at all, but I still don’t believe it would have made a difference. After all, there were too many others just like her waiting in line. Remember how all the potential jurors did everything they could to get on the jury, even lie.

That is why I really blame B29, because she could hung the jury.

They cared nothing about the fact that Trayvon made every effort to avoid the man who killed him including trying to keep him from finding out where he was staying.

Would these jurors really be willing to allow a stranger to know where they were staying or living. Chad who was just 13 or 14 when Trayvon was killed was home alone.

These so called ladies heard Trayvon’s last desperate and terrified screams, AND THEY DID NOT CARE!!! I don’t buy for one damned minute that they believe that was Zimmerman was screaming it is more than obvious the the kid who ended up with a bullet in his chest was the one screaming.

They saw him lying dead in someones yard saw the look of fear frozen on his face with his mouth partly open like it was in mid scream and they still let him go!!!! They saw him lying on the coroners table naked they saw how skinny he was even murderman’s lawyer noticed how slim he was. O-moron even described trayvon as being emaciated he was skinny but hardly emaciated.

Trayvon was never a serious threat to a former bouncer. Murderman could have snapped Trayvon’s neck like a twig if he chose to. Seems to me that NBC might want to depose CAC on the subject of his history of racial remarks or whatever. But it also seems to me that CAC might want to “take the 5th” with respect to some such questions, in view of the “pending FBI investigation.”

But at some point, NBC and the court will want CAC to either pursue his defamation claim, or dismiss it. You can’t just file a complaint and then ignore it indefinitely. This could get pretty interesting…

I think that focusing on fogen is missing the point. There certainly was no justice for Trayvon but that wasn’t due to fogen. Fogen took his life but the judicial system of Florida and its SYG law, the SPD, the prosecution, the defense, and the judge are the ones who denied Trayvon justice. Let’s keep our eye on those who were responsible. How would we respond if the everyone (SPD, prosecution, defense, judge) had all done their jobs properly and the jury returned a verdict of guilty? I think we’d be saying “Justice prevailed.” We can’t say that b/c the judicial system failed.

I pity Americans as I know the majority are good an honest folk.WE already knew your judicial system is corrupt an unweldly more about jobs for the boys than justice .

Everything about America is unweildly an unessesery convoluted an complicated an baffleing to the out side world.

Same way with your legal system it not only invites corruption an ole bot networks .

Its doesn’t encourage it either no need its Mandatory.

An unfourtunately America has done nothing to ally the fears of the world.Arrogance abounds were none is realy due.

So you sent a man to the moon use Nazi technology an Sceintist big whoop.

    Another big whoop.

em what else do we have to thenk Merica for The Osmonds

Don’t get me wrong Im dissing your corrupt political system an legal system not the people.

America is tolerated by the rest of the world kind of like you want to keep in with the baddest kid at school. The kid with perhaps rich parents or maybe a bully whom although you detest them .

Little igsignificent countries like Rhodesia an S Africa we yelled hey YOU STOP that’s wrong you cant do that blah blah blah we expelled them sport an blockaded them financial an tradeing ban s for doing exactly the ame thing as happened in America.

“‘We fight’: Moral Monday brings thousands to downtown Asheville to protest legislature” by David Forbes (Aug. 5, 2012)

An estimated 8,000 to 10,000 people showed up for Mountain Moral Monday this evening, filling Pack Square Park and protesting the policies of the North Carolina General Assembly.

Participants — in one of the largest turnouts for a protest in Asheville in recent years — held signs and heard speeches by local activists and Rev. William Barber, president of the state NAACP. Their grievances included voter restrictions, an education overhaul, legislators’ refusal to expand Medicaid, new rules that could close the state’s abortion clinics and cuts in support for low-income families.

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

Most of the empires failed due to a military overreach as well as the greed of those who could create the laws that benefited themselves.

        Sounds awfully familiar, doesn’t it?

1 > We’re still reeling economically from George W’s military overreaches.

2 > And I don’t know about where you all live, but we have a Republican controlled House, Senate, and Administration here in NC – for the first time in over 150 years or so. And back at redistricting time, their greed knew no bounds in re-defining districts to ensure that the legislature will likely remain in their control (currently with veto-proof majorities) for the next ten years – perhaps long enough to benefit themselves again during redistricting following the 2020 census … and so on, and so on.

Our current state legislature has never seen a tea party or ALEX bill that they didn’t love – and sometimes make them even more Draconian. And they’re downright giddy about dragging this state back to the 1920’s or so (not that we were ever “progressive,” by any stretch, but we had managed to claw our way somewhat into the modern world before this turn-around). Pretty soon – if not already – Florida will look like a fair and reasonable place, by comparison.

And besides our own legislature, the redistricting succeeded in changing the NC mix of Congressional delegates, so that we’re represented mostly by Republicans in Washington, too, for the foreseeable future.

NC currently has more Republicans in Congress than Democrats EVEN THOUGH, if you tally all the Congressional Districts’ votes, there were more votes cast for the Democratic candidates than for the Republican candidates. It’s all about how THE DISTRICTS got drawn.

It’s hard to hold onto any hope here in recent years.

But it happened in other states, too. The Repubs quietly targeted certain states to pour their OUT-OF-STATE political money into with the express goal of achieving redistricting that will maintain or expand their power in both state and federal governments. (So, to those of you predicting a Repub demise, don’t be so sure about that just yet – they’ve got the game rigged for a decade in several/many states to help keep them alive and thriving EVEN THOUGH a majority of voters may despise their positions and policies!)

Sorry for rambling and whining. But it’s soooooo depressing – and then the Zimmerman verdict on top of that. The word “despair” comes to mind frequently … but I keep trying to fight it off.

Last but not least, after they have done everything they could to provoke either one of the two individuals to stand up in his own name, in his own right, in his own place (The United States of America) he is then portrayed as the aggressor. Hand cuffed and charted away….. or sometimes shoot through the heart.

    • bettykath says:

What fogen did was bad enough but let’s put the blame for our shame where it belongs.

To begin with, let’s consider the SPD which didn’t preserve the evidence on Trayvon, which believed fogen’s story and tried to manipulate the witnesses to agree with him, which ignored other witnesses, which didn’t bother with a tox screen on the killer, which had officers who lied on the witness stand.

Then we can look at the prosecution that did a piss poor job in not preparing witnesses, in not using their challenges to get rid of a juror that saw Trayvon as a “colored boy” and rallys as “riots” and other jurors that were not likely to see Trayvon as a real person, in not objecting when the defense asked for opinions from non-experts, in not objecting to West’s questions of Rachel Jeantel that repeated ad nauseum questions she had already answered, for accenting fogen’s story as if it were true, for denigrating Rachel instead of building her up during closing and finally, for laying out the evidence as if it were a jigsaw puzzle and then telling the jury to use its common sense put the puzzle together without even the cover of the box to help them.

How about that defense? Press conferences so spread false narratives and to defame Trayvon, phony motions that included stuff to defame Trayvon or to paint inaccurate pictures of fogen or the prosecution or whatever else wouldn’t otherwise get out, West’s harassment of Rachel. I would go on about their inappropriate questions, etc. but that’s goes back to a deliberately incompetent prosecution which didn’t bother to object.

And let’s not forget the judge who refused a gag order, who deliberately left out the part of the jury instructions about aggression, who left out the child abuse section of the instructions and who finessed the request for clarification of the manslaughter instructions.

Yes, fogen started it, but the really shameful actions were by those who participated in letting him get away with murder.

      • Malisha says:

I’ve always made the same criticisms that outsiders make and have often been told to “love it or leave it.” : /

Two sides to a story says America deserves to be ragged on.
There is a difference when you sayit than when us outsiders say it.
I can bitch about my family but I don’t want an outsider to do it.
So I do apologize. It is not a polite thing to do.
Believe me when I say there are many leaders up here in the great white north who are nothing to write home about.
I must say there is something about the U.S. that produces many articulate, charasmatic, brave people.,

      • groans says:

No problem. I rag on the USA constantly lately, myself (though, honestly, I find our failures deeply distressing and depressing).

Collectively, we are unbelievably ignorant (while inexplicably arrogant), and we act against our own best interests … as well as against others’. All I can conclude is: We’ve got what we deserve. And it’s neither honorable nor sustainable. Worse – and I borrow from evidence rules concepts here – we’re not authentic. That is: We aren’t what we purport to be.

Colin .I’ve heard Canadians say every word you have just written. My Father went overseas when he was 19 to fight for King and country. My ancestors left England went to U.S.left for what was to become Canada. My Great Grandmother always said we dodged a bullet. When I was a kid I didn’t understand what she meant..It seems the leadership brags too much such as The Greatest Country in the World No universal healthcare, priately owned prisons etc..To have to say this over and over They doth protest too much and all my childhood years I remember everyone laughing when Americans declared they won the war.
The U.S. gets most of their hydro power and,oil from us.Do they know this NO.
It is the people in power who are like this not everyday people.
There was a lot of tension when Canada refused to go into Iraq.
All countries including Canada have propaganda but the leaders in the U.S.have made it into a fine art.

“Let us in the Uk fight the Nazis single handed for most of the war an only intervention of Japan made you come to our aid big whoop to that.”

The war against the Nazis began, for the UK, in September 1939. The US declared war on the Nazis in December 1941. The Nazis were defeated in May 1945. Contrary to your statement, the UK did not fight the Nazis single handed for most of the war. The US was there for the bulk of it.

However, it was the bravery and determination of the people of the UK that staved off Germany long enough to make the entry of the US into the war significant at that point. If they had not held fast, it would have taken much more blood and treasure for the US to have made any difference.

Also, I believe the war on the Eastern Front and the loss of 20 million souls in the Soviet Union had something to do with the defeat of the Nazis, as well.

BTW – of the Marshall aid given to the UK, roughly 10% of over 3 billion USD was in loans with the remainder being grants.

Putin would make GZ his bitch by just looking at him.

    I can see it now.

President GZ: “My fellow Americans, I just gave Alaska to Russia because I was in fear for my life.”

  47. Marion Spotford says:

I am in total agreement. I sat in that courtroom thinking the truth would be revealed . The lies were overwhelming and the jury believed it. I know that was Trayvon crying begging and pleading for his life. It was unbearable. GZ had a chance to think about what he was doing but we still have faith in God. Thank you

    • Shada524 says:

The exasperating thing is I don’t even think they believed his story either. They just think, as juror B37 says, he meant well but it went too far. Never mind that a 17 year old kid was murdered, Fogen meant well and if Trayvon had just ran away home he would never have been killed. He’s as much responsible for his death as Fogen so how can we find him guilty. I hope Trayvon’s screams for help haunt them…I doubt it but one can hope.

      • racerrodig says:

Funny…….very often “…going to far…” is actually breaking the law…..just like shooting Trayvon was.

        • groans says:

          Exactly.

And CAC just “went too far” because “he was frustrated.” (Like he was with his cousin? And the undercover cop? And his ex-fiance? And the lady at the party where he was bouncer? And his neighbor’s dog?)

          WTH?

    • MichelleO says:

We have to have faith in ourselves and do something about it. Many people think hiding behind computer keyboards and crying is the solution. It isn’t. What did our forebears do before us and before the technology that is readily available to everyone? They didn’t sit back wondering and crying. They gathered together like-minded citizens, they researched, they planned. They invited professionals from various backgrounds help them lay the groundwork. The Good Book says that we are the Lord’s helpers on Earth. Help somebody.

    • THE Shadow says:

O but there was a great deal of truth revealed. And it was very ugly indeed.

  48. racerrodig says:

Now back to the story …………

The last thing we need is a dork who graduated 315 out of 317 in his HS class running anywhere but from the law.

He also has to be at least 35 years old so he’s out on the next election. However, if anyone votes form him, they need to be committed…..and fast.

What’s his platform going to be…….”I smirk in your face” “Free ammo for all white men” “Form a National NW Defense Fund”

Then we’ll have Robbie the Racist as hi campaign manager…..and just think what SheLie and Fogen can do with all those campaign funds……..yep, this country is in some deep shit just because people like Fogen keep breathing…..there, I said it.

  49. MichelleO says:

    “Pray it isn’t you.”

Lord have mercy, isn’t this the truth? It’s realer than real. This man is counting on someone pointing a gun at him. For him it’s a game and an adventure. Lot’s of grown and powerful people actually came to his aid for killing a black kid. Ain’t America wonderful? Isn’t it great that Americans are telling the rest of the world how to run their lives?

    • groans says:

Lot’s of grown and powerful people actually came to his aid for killing a black kid.

CAC is indebted to a lot of crazy people. I wonder whether that has hit him yet. Seems to me that such a reality only makes it MORE imperative that he keep running and hiding. He’s got more bogey-men now than he’s ever had!

      Too bad, so sad.

    • BahamaMama says:

Just sick! What can be done to have this juror investigated?
Sadly I think the justice system will do nothing!

      • Xena says:

        I’m thinking maybe a change.org petition.

        • BahamaMama says:

That’s a good idea. That is how I first learned of the whole Trayvon case, a few weeks after the murder!
My concern is, no one cares about this in the right places. Seems Trayvon supporters did way more research than the prosecution did. And the general public believes the defence version of events.
          Makes me sick!

          • ladystclaire says:

This entire turn of events of a pretend trial being put on by the state of Florida, really hurts me to my heart. Also, to see how some people in this country are celebrating someone who has murdered a innocent child as a hero, just makes me sick to my stomach.

I believe there is being entirely too much emphasis being placed on overturning these SYG laws at the present time. What should be getting more attention is, those six IMBECILES who freed a murderer and also, THE OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR WHO WAS CHERRY PICKED BY RICK SCOTT HIMSELF. This needs to be done and, B37 especially out of the six female jurors need to be investigated separately from the other five.

Each and everyone of those jurors know exactly what went on in that room and, there was some communication going on with one of those women, to someone on the outside. How else did Frank Taffee know about a five to one hold out, before the verdict wasever read?

There is no way that this should be allowed to just go away and, nothing being done to those responsible and, that goes for the office of Angela Corey as well. It was obvious from the outset of the trial, that the prosecution wasn’t doing what one would expect them to do. for one thing, just about every witness they called, was a friend of the murderer. Also, those that were not friends of his, with the exception of those who told the truth, had an attitude against the victim.

These people are going to burst hell wide open and, they are going to get theirs. In the meantime, something needs to be done about this even being possible that, he could kill a kid and, just walk away from yet another crime that he committed. Trayvon’s family can worry about repealing the SYG laws for right now because IMO, investigating those responsible should come first.

I discussed the case with my students Monday. Those who thought he was a thug spoke up immediately. I walked them through the facts available and they were shocked. I told them to think of the hoodies they wear for sports, school spirit, different clubs, fashion, etc. Many of the students have tattoos and some have stretched ears and noses. I asked, “Are you thugs?” It’s amazing how people believed what the defense put out.

Sounded to me like Gladys and Bobby were quite content to be rid of CAC! Perhaps, in fact, things in the ZimmerSphere are returning to “normal” more than they realize or will admit.

No mention of Shellie by anyone, and it didn’t sound like she was with her hubby in Texas. Hmmmm…….

With all their proceeds from the book they wrote they should never have anything to worry about. They are both retired so I’m sure they are collecting something. They are not anywhere close to being destitute

Yeah, but what to spend that $20.00 on……

        • racerrodig says:

His defense fund collapsed back in April. He was getting literally nothing which is why they stopped begging. It seems a private firm, possibly the Koch brothers, paid for his trial. Now that he’s been acquitted, they stopped.

He’s as broke as could be.

          • After the State rested, the defense unexpectedly showed up with the crime reenactment guy, DiMaio and the use of force expert. At least 2 of those 3 presented junk science and DiMaio testified beyond his expertise when he testified about the seriousness of the defendant’s wounds.

The defense had to spend a lot of money to pay those guys.

Looks like a sugar daddy with a blank check showed up at the last minute.

          • looneydoone says:

            racer
I suspect much of his financial support came from the far right “Oath Keepers” and “Save America Foundation”. They are very active in Floriduh and particularly Seminole County.
Do a little google search on these two groups.

          • cielo62 says:

Racer- I sure hope you are right. It’s sickening to think he’s making any money from this death. It’s bad enough he got away with murder.

Interesting how Mama and Papa Z’s statements are directly opposite of Jr’s.

Anytime anyone goes out for anything, we all know about it. If my phone died, my family would be in a panic that they didn’t hear from me. It happened one time when my phone died and I fell asleep. My family really got worried and immediately started looking for me.

@Xena – A most fitting contribution to today’s “Theater of the Absurd” theme!

You’re so right: Juror B37 didn’t need to pay any attention to all that “evidence” stuff. She knew exactly what she FELT well before she was selected for the jury.

Common wisdom (if such a thing exists) says that jurors rise to the occasion and take their duties seriously. But, to me, she’s a prime example of a juror who clearly did not.
