The Second Coming (Slouching towards Bethlehem)

Deborah Moore asked what I meant by asking whether the center is strong enough to hold.

I was thinking of this poem by William Butler Yeats.

The Second Coming (Slouching towards Bethlehem)

W.B Yeats

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in the sands of the desert.

A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Can’t wait for the civil trial. Anyone who still sides with Zimtits after all the info comes out (probably the same 27% who still liked Bush in 2007-2008) will be clearly exposed for the blatant racists that they are.

  3. aussie says:

Is it a “Nation of Laws” or not?

Do you go on gut feeling, “heart” feeling? unknown hidden subconscious prejudice?

Or do you go ON THE LAW?

OK it was clearly misinterpreted and misrepresented (and how that came about is a long complicated story that’s not yet fully in the open). But surely the principle must remain, WE GO BY THE LAW.

If everyone goes on gut feelings you end up with anarchy, no?

It might also be an idea to wait for the full UNEDITED video.

    • a2nite says:

      @ aussie,
The “law” has created the anarchy. This law is to make sure that a white man can kill anyone (especially black men) and get away with it.

The law works, just not for us. And in the anarchy the evil rotten RW 1% can continue the robbery of us.

      • aussie says:

True. But ignoring a law doesn’t get it changed. And who’s to decide which to ignore and which still counts?

I want to see unedited interviews with all 6 jurors.

        • a2nite says:

Actually breaking Jim Crow laws did get them repealed. There was non-violent resistence. People were killed; they went to jail. Women’s sufferage movement did the same thing. If the law is wrong, we don’t have to abide by it. It’s called civil disobedience; it’s a tool, one of many.

The non- violent ouster of the British from India is another example. People have to be prepared to sacrifice even their lives. We have let our ancestors down because our enemies are winning. Evil is winning.

Anarchy is the most miss interpted word or political ideaoligy on the planet.

People think it means the break down of society an riots an mayhem.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Anarchists are the oldest political opposition political force in recorded history,

Anarchists were opposed to Monarchists whom believed the a King or Queen had a divine right a god given birth right to rule an govern over all.

Anarchy is about government by each an every individual as equeal under the sun.

Anarchists belived no one has a divine or regal obligation to rule.Instead they believe in self government small government local politics for local regions
No central power base but the trust with in communites to provide whats best for there own well being.

Anarchy was not anti government at all they were anti monarchcy
Anti big brother type rule from a far.
Anarchy was about dissolveing kings an queens an letting us more ir less govern or control ourselves.

It was such an abhorant idea an concept to the ruleing elite 500 years ago .
That they demonised the concept wich is sucsessfull to this day.

Even educated learned people think anarchy means the break down an end of civilisation.

When in realty Anarchy means the exact opposite.

aussie, I would actually suspect very little that was spoken was from her and was indeed a script that had been furnished. I’ve noticed (strangely amusing) that the other side (the tree sewer) is claiming she was a plant that the Fogdoit was only saved from by the gallant efforts of the other jurors….. The strange thing that comes out of this is that those people are not even happy in victory…. Who writes the first book? or will it be a made for TV movie?

@KateW. Doesn’t sound like Junior has much faith in O’Mara being able to reverse the pre-trial waiver for immunity.

A civil trial for wrongful death is not a do-over of the criminal case, but maybe Junior doesn’t know that.

It is amazing how, we as humans, can walk thru the woods and come upon a tree that is beautiful in our eyes, yet never realize we are standing in a forest of identical trees! We can adore that singular tree and make it the focus of our attention all the while ignoring the other trees in the forest. Is our mind and soul so blind that it fails to see the whole forest, or is it that we are so narrowly focused that we can only see that which we want to see? Will it come to pass that we allow the remainder of the forest to decay and fall because of our lack of vision…..

    • KateW says:

But she could have said no. Instead she reiterated it. Reporting-FAIL!!

    • Tzar says:

“… George Zimmerman … That’s—George Zimmerman got away with murder. But you can’t get away from God.”

      This right here
why are even discussing this case?
why are talking about standing for justice?
why do we worry about what happened to Trayvon?
God’s taking care of all this right?

and again I have no problem saying she was a coward in the deliberation room and now is a charlatan who’d lik us to accept hr cowardice because she’s transferred this case to a higher power just like the killer tried to transfer responsibility for his actions when he said that this innocent child’s murder, committed in full will by him, was God’s plan.

For anyone whom this platitude passes as an excusable plea and logic for why this woman in hindsight can shirk her civic and moral responsibilities than you have to ask yourself one of two questions:
-Are you here on an exercise in futility and paltry redundancy?
-Do you care about the truth?
Because if this killer can’t get away from God, than we have been here for nothing from jump, but if this killer can get away from “God” than those who let this statement stand as some form of excuse or consolation do not care about the truth.

This planet is our social jurisdiction, we can’t -we certainly can’t afford to- shirk our social responsibilities, and sometimes that includes chastising people who insult our intelligence in the aid child murderers.

and to those who think this is some form of blood lust and digital rioting, take notice of how little discussion there has been about the other jurors, indeed as I sit and type this, I don’t even remember their numbers. BUT let them too come out and tell me that this is ok because George can’t get away from God, let them come tell me that there exist a piece of paper that says this calamity is OK. How I will laugh at them, how I will jeer them, for there they sat in a room with the power to do this one little favor for their God, to stand up to this piece of paper, that they say said child murderers can go free, and in that room they could have told it “NO, IT IS NOT OK!” And instead they’d like me to believe that they cowered in fear of this…this dead…this inanimate piece of paper, instead they shook in fear, huddled in corner opposite to it, instead they froze mute and could only muster the bravado to whisper, “ok…we understand”. Let them come tell me this. The fire in my belly burns brightly still right now and I shall show it to them.

      • elle says:

    • KateW says:

You know it’s amazing these cowards totally discount his culpability in all of this. So Zimmerman must have been the innocent man that was targeted, stalked and pursued with a loaded weapon if you let these clowns tell it. I couldn’t even read that BS. This dead beat a-hole killer is an angel if you let his rap sheet tell it.

    • MDH says:

Ever notice that not one of these lawyers who defend the verdict ever do a finding of fact?

No, they just make a broad statement unsubstantiated by any evidence, thus avoiding being subject to critical analysis.

      For example, the whopper told by Dershowitz that GZ was getting beaten up by a bigger, stronger, younger man {wtf????}

How long would it take a critical thinker to make a complete ass out of the person making the above statement?

And this guy fails to even note that B29 did not make a proper legal analysis of the term “intentional” within the context of the instructions.

      • KateW says:

MDH, yes! I call it the selective information process. The killer’s past history is “out of sight, out of mind” but yet this young man who has little criminal record besides some stuff he did in school is the only record that seems to be playing in their minds. But I get it, they are defense attorneys and they have to deny any evidence that paints their clients in a bad light. the funny thing is the naivete and gullibility of their supporters as they parrot Trayvon Martin’s history is almost comical. Because when you bring up that killer’s history they STFU! A-holes! All of them! Then the threats from the brother recently…..maaaaaaaaan, they have some set of cahones on them.

in love with Jodi Arias admits he planned to kill Nancy Grace

1PHOENIX (AP) – A New York man indicted in Arizona on charges that he made Twitter death threats against two national TV commentators over their coverage of Jodi Arias, whom he claims to be in love with, told detectives he was on his way to kill one of them, authorities said Thursday. Maricopa County sheriff’s officers transported David Lee Simpson, 48, of Bath, N.Y., to Phoenix, where he was booked into jail Wednesday evening.

An Arizona grand jury indicted him July 18 on three felony counts of computer tampering and two counts of stalking. According to a probable cause statement from the Sheriff’s Office, Simpson began his tweets June 11 claiming he was responsible for the killing of Arias’ boyfriend. The threats against Nancy Grace and Jane Velez-Mitchell, both hosts of shows on Turner Broadcasting’s HLN network, grew more serious June 12, the same day Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery said he planned to try again to secure the death penalty for Arias.

County authorities said Simpson told them late Wednesday “he was on his way to Georgia to kill Nancy Grace.”

The man also indicated he had placed several pipe bombs in rural northern Pennsylvania, sheriff’s spokesman Brandon Jones said.

Bath police investigator Heather Barry said Thursday investigators think Simpson’s story of planting bombs is credible.

“Based on the specific details he’s provided, we believe we’re going to turn something up,” Barry said.

She wouldn’t elaborate because she didn’t want to cause panic but said “they are not in a location where we think anybody is in immediate danger.” Barry is working with police in Pennsylvania to locate the devices, which Simpson said he made in Bath then took over the state line about 30 miles to the south.

Jones said authorities are unaware of any connection between the death threats and the pipe bombs.

A jury convicted Arias of first-degree murder May 8 in the June 2008 death of boyfriend Travis Alexander at his suburban Phoenix home. The same panel later failed to reach a unanimous decision on whether to sentence her to life in prison or death.

Prosecutors now have the option of pursuing a new penalty phase aiming for the ultimate punishment, or avoiding it and leaving Arias with a life sentence.

Grace and Velez-Mitchell both regularly covered the nearly five-month trial. They focused heavily on Arias’ guilt, which apparently angered Simpson, according to court records.

Simpson does not yet have an attorney.

Turner Broadcasting indicated both TV personalities wanted to pursue charges against the man, according to the probable cause filing. The network also increased its security and told authorities Grace and Velez-Mitchell were concerned for their safety, the filing states.

The court records indicate Simpson also used Twitter to threaten a Phoenix woman, who “stated she was scared to death.”

Among the threatening Tweets was one aimed at Velez-Mitchell stating, “I will be waiting for you and Nancy” when Arias’ retrial begins.

In the same string of Tweets, Simpson indicated he was in Arizona and threatened to “slit Nancy Grace’s throat.” Investigators found he was actually still in New York at the time of his tweets.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office investigators tracked the Twitter account to Simpson and flew to New York to interview him June 25, but Simpson had not yet been placed under arrest.

“He provided a full confession and stated he posted everything on Twitter because he was in love with Jodi Arias and he wanted a life with her,” according to the probable cause statement.

As the investigation continued, detectives received an email from Turner Broadcasting on July 15 that said Grace and Velez-Mitchell were again receiving threats from a person they believed to be Simpson.

“Can’t wait see you in Arizona I’m excited,” he wrote in one, according to the records.

Neither Grace nor Velez-Mitchell apparently responded to Simpson on Twitter, and Turner Broadcasting officials declined to comment.

Two days later, the records state, authorities in New York took Simpson into custody after co-workers at a garage where he worked told police he “had a loaded handgun, and stated he was going to kill Nancy Grace.”

Barry said she had been searching for Simpson to charge him with aggravated harassment just to get him into custody. She said she then got a worried call from the garage owner.

“He said he (Simpson) was throwing stuff out, loading up the car, and he’s got a gun,” Barry said Thursday. “I flew over there before he left town and grabbed him. It was getting crazy.”

She said she’ll recommend dropping the misdemeanor harassment count, given the Arizona indictment. But she noted the New York investigation is ongoing.

On July 20, Bath and Maricopa County authorities searched a travel camper and car belonging to Simpson. They said they found two guns, a pair of handcuffs, several knives, binoculars, shotgun ammunition, a police scanner and receipts for purchases of two shotguns and a rifle.

Simpson was subsequently arrested. He is awaiting arraignment in Arizona set for Aug. 1.

Montgomery, the Maricopa County attorney, said Arizona has jurisdiction in the case because the threats were against “individuals for conduct that was occurring” in the state, meaning it stemmed from coverage of the Arias case by Grace and Velez-Mitchell, who both were at times in the county

Aww cmon. People are just going through the stages of grief. Anger is one of those stages. We have to let some of these people go through their stages to come out enlightened and renewed. Everyone experiences the stages differently. Let them get it out. I certainly don’t agree with the way some of the folks are talking but at times this feels frustrating.

“Though the mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small; Though with patience he stands waiting, with exactness grinds he all.”

I don’t know Kate….. we have posters questioning Maddy’s state as a “Human Being”….. is that properly expressed anger and grief? To question ones place here as a “Human Being?”
Personally I find that repugnant! …. and QUITE telling….. and not telling about Maddy….

Can one be very passionate, and keep an open mind, that is the question? are we married to our ideas ,opinions…

    • J4TMinATL says:

Good question. IMO, passionate people have convictions. Those principles don’t waiver. Passion drives people to do because it’s a must.

Passionate people are the ones who fight for change because they must even though they sacrifice and even suffer.

If not for passionate people, nothing would change.
