Those people don’t know what they are talking about and they spew hatred just because they can. They get off on trying to out do each other and I just happen to be their latest target.

I decided to ignore them.

There are still moonshiners in Virginia, and it is NOT a joke. I had a tepee in green county that locals burned down, the sheriff would not come nor the fire dept., they were afraid of the locals.

awww jeeez, now you make me cry. i left of the blogging two years ago when my father’s health was noticeably failing. as soon as kids were out of school, i stuffed them into a car and moved 300 miles to get closer to him. the move was insane and blogworthy in it’s own right. i lived in a funked out old motel with a kitchenette along hiway 99 in the far reaches of northern california to be near him and wait for my husband to find work here. an adventure to be sure (especially the night life around that joint). have spent the last year dealing with loss, his estate (the ranch on which i grew up) and unbearable family tension. but am ready to put pen to paper again, finally.

thank you so very, very much … it is you who inspired me to start back up – the words of your own in frog gravy and i shall not forget.

LOL, C’mon, son, whip up some of that courage and get those stories out there!

I did notice a bit of shyness and explanation there in the pre and post-essay and girl. I tell you, no need to explain, your writing is a pleasure to read!

Mental illness is such a cruel double-edged sword that seems often to be part of the lives of people who are gifted, and it sounds like your father had a great many gifts. Good on you for having the courage to share, many will be touched, I am sure.

thank you very much, from one writer to another, i am honored. i have a large collection of essays, many more to put up, some i have been waiting for my father to pass, for reasons which will become obvious, as it deals with his mental illness, which is as much my story as his. although he was from utah, my mamma is from the south, so i have a rich past to draw upon although i am a californian. my literature profs always pressed me to submit for publication and i have yet to do so – still working up the nerve. maybe i oughtta make a deal with the moonshiner for courage
